Scheepsstudio was founded by Gijs Roosegaarde Bisschop. With over 30 years of experience in the maritime sector and as the former founder of a water sports shop and boat rental company on the Vecht in the Netherlands, he knows what is needed on the water. Coming from a family where water sports were part of his upbringing from an early age, he is a passionate sailor. Having crossed the ocean three times, he is very familiar with the maritime world. Gijs' passion for ship clocks has developed into expertise over the years. He has an extensive network in the water sports industry, and manufacturers approach him with questions about specific preferences or qualities of clocks. Therefore, it was a logical step to start several webshops because he believed that customers should have a wide choice in design and quality, all under one roof.
Susan de Roode also joined the team two years ago. With a love for sailing and a passion for beautiful design, her experience in the design world makes her a perfect match. We offer an extensive collection of ship clocks, barometers, comfort meters, thermometers, hygrometers, ship lamps, ship furniture, and ship crockery, selecting from leading brands based on design, quality, and sustainability.
